We take pride our ability to teach people of all ages and levels. Taking private or semi-private lessons with us is one of the fastest ways to reach your desired proficiency level. We move at your pace and ensure you make consistent progress. Lessons are taught online and are either 1-1 or semi-private (2-3 people per group) to ensure a personalized experience. There may be the option to teach you in-person if you live in the same city as one of our tutors.
The languages we service are: Blackfoot, Cantonese, Cree, Danish, English, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

We are one of the only businesses on the market that can confidently tell you how long it will take you to achieve your desired level of proficiency before you start taking lessons.
You will know from day 1 how long the learning journey will be. In addition, in most cases we can ensure students make measurable progress every 8 weeks or less.
Unlike us, most teachers and language learners do not have a background in a branch of Applied Linguistics called Second Language Acquisition (SLA). Therefore, the majority of teachers do not have a sufficient educational background to effectively guide a learner to fluency.
Furthermore, learners end up using ineffective learning methods in their attempt to progress since they do not know a lot about what study/practice methods work. We teach our students the basics of SLA to make sure you can progress as quickly as possible.
We are unique since most Calgary Language Nerds tutors are both language teachers and language learners. We have a first-hand understanding of the challenges language learners face since we are also trying to learn languages ourselves. The CLN team is full of Language Nerds, making us true to our business name.

Need to have some of your writing edited? We’ve got you covered! You’ll have a private lesson with one of our tutors to review and correct one piece of writing together. After the lesson you will also be provided with feedback on the major errors in your writing so that you can avoid them in the future. One important difference with our writing correction service is that we edit your writing with you as opposed to simply emailing you edits. That way you can learn from your mistakes.
Turnaround Time
You will be able to connect with a tutor within 7-10 day of you submitting your document. Should you require a rush service contact us.

About the Owner of the Calgary Language Nerds
Hi! I’m Azren the Language Nerd
I have over 15 000 hours experience teaching and learning foreign languages. I’ve taught people of all ages, both online and in-person. Learning and teaching languages are two of my favourite things to do 🙂
I started the Calgary Language Nerds in 2016. Since then, my team of tutors and I have worked with hundreds of people and helped them towards their proficiency goals. Our tutors are true “Language Nerds” who love learning and teaching foreign languages. I work closely with each one of them to provide ongoing coaching and training.
